“Letting Go” Letter Template

How to use this worksheet

Print out the worksheet, one for each person you have emotional baggage with. Focus on completing the letter for one person at a time. It is also more powerful for the mind to physically write out the letter as opposed to typing it.

The most important part of this process is to empty all the negative emotion out into the letter. Make sure to empty out the emotions of anger, fear, sadness, hurt, guilt and shame.

After you’ve emptied out the negative emotion, end the letter with how you want to feel about that person in the future. You have two options:

1 - To feel nothing at all (or neutral) in the future when you think of this person. This is perfect for exes and people who are no longer in your life.

2 - To remember the good times and the good memories. This is great for people who are still in your life.

Sign the letter and then burn the letter. Repeat the process with anyone else you have emotional baggage with.
